As an educator, Lana Yeary has always embraced the life-long desire to learn. Having picked up a digital camera after retirement she held tight to the mantra that you are “never too old to learn something new.” Starting with landscapes she began to hone her photography skills and developed a love for capturing God’s amazing creation. Over time her skills and creativity expanded. She began to win numerous awards and in 2022 was published in the “BlueRidge Country” Magazine.

Lana has expanded her craft from landscape to include wildlife, abstract, fine art, macro, and still life photography. She feels that capturing an image is an expression of the photographer as an artist and should elicit an emotion from the viewer. It shouldn’t be about creating an image to please others but about discovering that others are pleased with the image you created.
